Do You Fear A Golf Weight Training Program?

Author: gnugent  |  Category: Golf News

Golf weight training program. In a sport that hardly has any controversies; few issues have come as close to being controversial as golf weight training programs have. More so amateurs and non-professional golfers.

And yet if you really examine the facts, a golf weight training program need not be controversial at all.

Amongst the other golfers golf weight training programs are still looked on with a lot of fear and apprehension,  although professionals have now fully embraced the benefit of golf weight training programs . These fears are of course mainly based on ignorance rather than enough solid facts and knowledge.

Some of the golf weight training programs designed to build strength are too strenuous, that is one of the greatest fears . Others fear that they will develop great big muscles that will make them stiff and yet flexibility is an important attribute for any golfer.

These fears are of course completely unjustified. Most golf weight training program have been successfully completed by golfer who are as old as 80 years old. The junior golfer barely in their teens have also graduated from the same programs without any problem. Not to mention lady golfer some of who are senior citizens.

Golf weight training programs are designed to increase strength and not to body build or build great huge muscles, then it is significant to note . Use of dumbbells are different for the two different objectives. For example lighter weights are used, they are lifted more times than the case would be for a bodybuilder dealing in much heavier weights.

Many good golf weight training programs involving dumbbells will also include certain stretch exercises using them. Stretch exercises are very good in improving golf swings.

When you take a closer look, golf weight training programs are really not be feared. Rather they would be embraced as they have helped many golfers revolutionize their games.

There is no doubt that the importance of a golf weight training program will continue to rise in the years to come.

5 Ways To Enjoy Golf More

Author: gnugent  |  Category: Golf News

Some times it is just as they say, a good walk spoiled, but we all love the game of golf.Enjoy golf more with a few ways.

  • The blue tees, do not play.

Unless you are at least a 10 handicap or lower, why bother making the golf course even harder than it has to be. It makes no sense making a conscious decision to making the course more difficult, if you are shooting in the 90’s or triple digits.  Play the white tees and take the extra level of anxiety out of the equation.

  • Improve your lie

There is no way you should be playing the strict rules of golf, when you are having a recreational round of golf. The average round of golfs would be at least six hours at course all over the world.  Golfers would be returning to the tees all day after hitting there first ball out bounds, or searching for every lost ball for 5 minutes.

So if we are bending the rules to save time, why not bend them to improve your lie, something you can actually benefit from.Play winter rules all your time.

  • Play different game

Compete in other categories other than score, instead playing the same match with your buddies.  Some examples would be:

Most fairways hit

Least amount of 3 putts

Most 1 putts

  • If it is your honor, take it.

You just birdie the hardest (or easiest) hole on the golf course, it is your tee, you earn it, take it. You will be surprised how often you can have two birdies in a row if you are actually trying to get  two birdies in a row, challenge yourself to get another one.

  • Lower u’r hope.

If you are a average golfer you play golf twice per week if you’re lucky, on top of that, you don’t practice as much as you should.. your game is not exactly what it should be if you can’t honestly think.

Don’t be so hard on yourself when you’re not playing well, just enjoy the game itself. Even the pros hasn’t good days.

Upgrade Your Former Set with a Innovative Utility Golf Club Set

Author: gnugent  |  Category: Golf News

There are many strategies that an avid golfer can incorporate in an effort to improve their golf game. Many strategies that people and implement into improving their golf game and include lessons from pros, consistent practice on the golf range, and lifting weights for upper body strength. You might also want to think about upgrading your golf clubs and other equipment.  One of those choices is to purchase a hybrid golf club set.

If considering this purchase, it is important to take into account a number of considerations.   Those considerations could include knowing what a hybrid golf club set is and how to shop for this type of golf set.

Just Exactly What Is a Hybrid Golf Club Set?

A hybrid golf club set is specifically designed with new technology to improve anyone’s golf game.  They specifically are a blending of the strengths that traditional types of golf clubs have.  The two components that are blended together are the shaft of the club and the head of the club.

Therefore, a hybrid gold club set utilizes a shorter shaft and a golf head that is not rounded and does not bulge out.  The results of this blending give you a much more controlled drive which results in greater distances and more accuracy in that distance.

These clubs also have a lower center of gravity. Not only is this center of gravity lower but it is positioned more to the back of the clubs head.  This all combines to provide the potential of helping to provide significant lift to launch the golf ball.

How To Shop For A Hybrid Golf Club Set

There are a lot of different ways that you as an individual can secure the purchase of a set of hybrid golf clubs. Some of those ways include shopping at a pro shop at a golf course or online.

If you make the decision to shop for your hybrid set online, you are going to want to take into consideration a number of things.  Those considerations include making sure that product that is being considered for purchase is a quality product and that the website is reputable as well.

You are also going to want to do a lots of comparison-shopping on the different hybrid clubs available.  That comparison should include specific features such as the materials used and, if the golfer is left handed, whether the club is a hybrid left handed golf club set.   You also need to make sure that you read up on the various user reviews that might be available.  Another thing, but absolutely not the least thing, is to compare prices to make sure that you get the best price possible.

Another important locale to look for a hybrid golf club set is a pro shop. There are many advantages though, and they are that you have the benefit of receiving advice from the staff, as well as actually being able to feel the club in your hands to decide whether you like it or not.

So in order to get the club that you really like, and know that you like, you should visit your pro shop and find the clubs that you want, then go online and see if you can find a better deal than what they are offering.

Start off

The {different kinds of golf equipment can be a bit confusing for the novice.~With all of the different types and styles of golf equipment out there today it can be quite confusing for somebody just starting out.~There are many different kinds of golf equipment on the market today and for the novice this can be quite confusing.} That’s why a Beginner Golf Set is advisable. If you make this choice, it is usually a lot less expensive and it takes all the work out of the decision-making. Beginning golfers need to learn how to develop their skills, and with time these should improve. Choose the clubs that are equal to your ability, then you can upgrade as you progress.

We are starting, you need to get the basics down first so there isn’t any real reason to buy a lot of different clubs to begin with. As an example, you could probably find in an ordinary beginner golf seta stand bag with a 450cc Driver, Hybrid Wood – 4, Irons, Fairway 3 Wood, and a Silver Diamond Putter.. A sufficient number of clubs should be around 14.There are some people who prefer to use long irons instead of hybrids, but that’s just a matter of your own preference. A lot of beginners like to use hybrids because they are multipurpose and that they perform the job of a fairway wood as well as the job of a long iron.

Selecting the right driver is important, and you need to consider the appropriate loft as well as the shaft flex and the grip. You’re going to get more flexibility out of a regular shaft, as opposed to a shaft that has stiff which could make it difficult to achieve a decent swing speed.  For the most part you will find that as a novice you are going to have a tendency to prefer the 7-iron and the pitching wedge over your other clubs. Your next club purchase could probably well be a sand wedge which will help you to get your ball out of bunkers. The advice for anyone starting is to buy cavity back clubs rather than forged blades. You could of course purchase every piece of equipment separately, but you will get a much better deal buying it just a beginner golf set. If you don’t trash on your clubs, when you are ready to upgrade there is a good chance you will be up to sell them so you can afford to actually make the upgrade.

Sometimes you can get the sets with extra accessories so you want to keep an eye out for real deals. These basic beginner golf sets almost always have a basic stand bag included with them. The set may also contain tees. There are many different brands of golf balls but the most expensive ones will probably not benefit the novice. The priority at this stage is to get distance on the ball, so the less expensive two-piece with a hard center is ideal.

There are some other things that might not be included in your beginner golf set that you want to think about picking up. A glove that fits well, golf shoes, and some waterproof clothing are all essential. You’re also going to want to get in a bit of extra practice, so you might think of this in addition. A chipping net can provide you with a lot of fun and some good training as well. If you were to pick up a putting machine, rainy days wouldn’t have to keep you from having some golfing fun.

You can find these items at many specialist golf scores, general sports stores, or from a many online locations as well. Often times golf magazines will run competitions that you can win a golf equipment from, or you can just browse your local classified section and search for the beginning golf sets.

Nippon 950GH Shaft Review

Author: gnugent  |  Category: Golf News

Overview/Technology-

Nippon shaft for irons have been around a long time.  With that length of time comes accumulated knowledge of how a shaft should perform.  They know shafts, because they’ve been in the trenches coming up with new technology and offering to the golfing public.

I was browsing their website recently and came across this on their home page which I whole-heatedly agree:

“The shaft is one of the most important yet most overlooked elements of golf equipment. The fact is,the proper shaft can make a major difference in club performance and in your enjoyment of the game of golf.”

That said, Nippon is without a doubt a leader in the golf shaft market, especially the iron shafts.  Nippon shafts come standard in many of the top golf club manufacturers including Cleveland, Mizuno, Nike, Ping, and Srixon.  That says a lot for the trust factor of Nippon.

Nippon offers many models and we will delve deeper into each of their models individually in later reviews.

The Nippon Models-

Nippon 750GH- The Lightest of the Nippon steel shafts, designed for a stable, fluid swing.

Nippon 850GH- Rapidly growing in popularity, pegged as “attacking” shaft.  Still an ultra-lightweight model that features an easy contact thanks to their light weight and consistent directionality.

Nippon 950GH- Nippon’s top-selling model and probably the favorite among golfers of most all levels looking to take their game to the next level.

Nippon 1050GH- A heavier model made for golfers that like to hit hard.

Nippon 1150GH Tour- Another shaft made for golfers that hit hard.  The 1150GH TOUR Steel shaft for irons (Semi-lightweight type) the semi-lightweight steel shaft.

Nippon 950 GH WF- The long irons combine easy-swinging light weight with easy contact — plus the kind of distance you have to experience to believe.  Short irons provide a slightly heavier feel for stability.

Nippon V90- Inherits likened performance of the 950GH but while further reducing weight to 90 grams and using a lower center of gravity.

Actual Feedback-

“Nippon 990 Uniflex in my irons and they are the best steel shafts I’ve used”

Pros/Positives-

Nippon is certainly one of the top steel shaft makers around and it shows.  They have a loyal following that swear this is the best steel shaft available.

Cons/Negatives-

Probably not as well known as Rifle and True Temper due to it’s basically an Asian shaft, but nevertheless retain a large market.

Overall Rating-

I would confirm Nippon are among the best, if not the best iron shafts available today.  They provide a wide variety of options/models and have a strong following.  I recently did a Poll on the favorite steel shaft and Nippon came in a close second to Rifle ahead of True Temper!  For more great Golf Shaft Reviews, please visit Golf Gear Select, the Home of the Golf Review.

Competitive Golf – Enjoy the Competitive Side of Golf

Author: gnugent  |  Category: Golf News

Competitive golf is a juiced up form of the game. For many golfers it adds an element to the game that makes it incredibly fun. For other, it is a form of torture.

Part I is for those golfers on the fence about competing. It offers clues that may help you decide if competition is for you. Part II talks about preparations for competition; things like practice, gear, and knowledge of the rules. Part III delves into the competition itself and is primarily about the thoughts that creep into your head during competition.

Is Competitive Golf for You?

“Golf” and “Competitive Golf” are almost two different sports. Both are fun but the competitive part of the game makes it really different. Golf is mostly about being with friends and enjoying the beauty of the game, the exercise, and the challenge. Competitive Golf should have everything that Golf has but with the added twist of beating other players. The addition of this little variation really changes the game.

By Competitive Golf we are not just talking about the PGA Tour, but things like the Tuesday night league at your local golf course or the city golf tournament. Here are some questions you can ask yourself to help you decide if you even want to compete:

1. If you are reading this, you are at least interested so you passed the first test.

2. Can you handle failure? Even Tiger Woods wins less than one-half the time. If you want to work on humility, you should consider competing because any golf competitor will fail more times than succeed.

3. How do you handle pressure? Do you like pressure or do you try to avoid it? If you would like to handle pressure better, competitive golf may be good for your personal development.

4. Do you have a handicap? There are two types of tournaments amateurs play. One is called a “Gross Tournament” where everyone plays even up. No one gets or gives shots to opponents. For this to work, all the players need to play at relatively the same skill level so even if there are no shots exchanged, you need a handicap to get you in the right “flight”. The other type of tournament is called a “Net Tournament” and here shots are exchanged to allow players of varying skills to compete and a handicap is absolutely essential.

5. What is your knowledge of the Rules of Golf? To compete you need to have an understanding of the most common rules like “out of bounds”, “unplayable lie”, “hazards”, etc. There are just a few you need to know. The others you can look up when the situation arises.

6. Do you like to wager when you play with your buddies? This gives you a taste of what it’s like to compete, but competitive golf is still different than just betting with your golfing buddies. If you do not like the feeling of betting, you will probably not enjoy competition.

Hopefully this will give you clues about whether you will enjoy “Competitive Golf”.

Exercise For Golfers Pays Huge Dividends

Author: gnugent  |  Category: Golf News

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

But I’m here to tell they are most definitely not, exercises for golfers may seem like an oxymoron . Golf is physical! Golf causes injury! Golf can very easily break down the body! To hit the ball maximum distance, your body has to have a higher level of golf specific strength and flexibility.

The above statements are fact.

To play your best golf you need to implement exercises for golfers as soon as possible. The sooner you start, the sooner you will see results on the course.

So what’s the difference between going to the gym and plopping down on machines and doing exercises for golfers?

First off…do you sit when you play golf?

Then why would you sit in a “controlled” machine thinking it will improve your golf?

Golf is “on your feet” and in a dynamic position (golf posture).

Because the demands for golf are so unique, you need to approach your golf improvement from a different angle than just going into a gym and thinking it will help your golf game.

Exercises for golfers doesn’t just mean strength exercises. You’ve got to do golf stretching exercise as well.

Whenever I hear a golfer say he/she needs to stretch more…my first thought is “they are missing the boat”. Golf stretching without golf exercise is not permanent flexibility.

Here’s an example for you.

Stretch a rubber band. Now stretch it more and more. What happens to the rubber band? It get brittled and eventually breaks.

Picture your muscles just like that rubber band.

The winning combination is golf exercise and golf stretching . This will give you the best results.

When putting together your exercises for golfers program, take a look at the body position required to make a mechanically sound swing.

You can do golf exercises specific to this position, once you realize this dynamic and very unique position .

Things to remember.

• Do the majority of your golf exercises on your feet.

• Do them in your golf posture if at all possible.

• Just like your golf swing, keep your knees flexed .

• Do as many rotational exercises as possible.

• Make sure to do the follow through side of the swing.

• Do a high enough repetition to promote golf muscular endurance.

Exercises for golfers can be fun and keep you motivated to stick with your program. Adherence is the main culprit for lack of results. Like any fitness or weight loss program, if you don’t do it consistently you won’t see the results.

Staying motivated by picturing the “end-result” on the course will be a huge help. Envision you on that first tee a more powerful and fit golfer. Picture blasting your drives by all your playing partners. And lastly, paint a strong visual of you having the lowest score consistently when you play in your normal golf groups.

I hope you now have a better understanding of exercises for golfers.

Disc Golf Driving Tips: Things To Remember

Author: gnugent  |  Category: Golf News

here are a few disc golf driving tips that are going to be really helpful for you to learn. Especially if you are more of an experienced golfer who is just looking to tweak parts of their game and make sure that you are the best golf player possible, these disc golf driving tips are going to be very important for you to learn more about.

Here are a few that are going to be very important for you to learn beside other different disc golf driving tips that you could learn.

easy golf tips for driving: Make the Club do the Work

One of the best disc golf driving tips that you can get is to make the club do the work. Instead of putting all the effort on yourself, as many players do, you are going to want to put it on the club. Beginners more than anything are often seen attempting to smash the ball to pieces in the hope of increasing the distance of their drive and impressing their friends.

You can try this, but you are not going to have much success with your game if you are going about it this way. You don’t want to hit the ball too hard because this will result in a slice, and instead you want to take your time, get the motion of your swing correct and then let the club do the work.

Keep Your Eyes on the Game

Another of the most important disc golf driving tips is to keep your eyes on the game. One of the biggest mistakes that players make is forgetting to keep their eyes focused. That is why this is one of the most important disc golf driving tips of all, because if you don’t get started off right your whole game is going to be thrown off.

If your eyes are pointing towards the left then your club is going to be steep and if your eyes are pointed towards the right then the club will probably come too far from the inside.

These tips are really great but you should realize that they mere the tip of the iceberg. There are so many other, great tips that you can learn and which are going to significantly impact your game in a positive way. The more that you learn the better off you are going to be and the better golfer you will turn into.
